Last Sunday's 3K

About 10 years ago, my Aunt Ree had a liver transplant. (The liver she received was from an 18 year old- she used to joke that her new liver wasn't old enough to drink!) She had a "mystery" disease, where her own liver was shrinking- rapidly. I remember the Christmas before she knew she was sick: she was yellow.

Anyway, now, after 10 years, she's fine, and to commemorate this occasion, lots of family and friends went and walked for the Dash for Donor Awareness last Sunday.

My cousin Chrissy's boyfriend Adam even made shirts for us with our team logo: SharkBite (because that's what my aunt said her scar looked like, that she'd been attacked by a shark! It does, too! It's huge...and scary!)

Here's the "team," lined up in front of the Art Museum. The big topic of conversation as we gathered here: who's ever been IN the Art Museum? Well, everyone except my Uncle Steve...who's from Philly. Crazy! (He's behind Ezra, on the right).

My Aunt Ree, Gram, and Chrissy (making a weird face):

Lining up to start the walk!

It was a great day- lots of fun, and great weather. Ezra, Eve, and I walked to it (to the Art Museum), did the Walk, and then walked home. What a day of exercise! My legs were killing me at the end!

This isn't the best picture of Ezra, obviously, but it's more to show our teams shirts. There was some debate over the color- Chrissy insisted they were yellow, while Adam swore they were 'safety green.' Hmm...

This is Eve's second Walk! (We took her on one when she was just a month old!) Here she is, post-Walk, post-nap:

Adam even made a romper for her (so cute!):

(Thanks for the pics, Chris!)
