Lately, the PBS channel "Sprout" has become a good friend.
When I'd like to distract Eve for five minutes or so, I put it on, and she remains fixed on the floor, staring at whatever cute cartoon they're playing at the moment. (I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea- I don't do this a lot!)
Today, as I ran to fix my coffee, it was "Fifi & the Flowertots." They're pretty cute, claymation flowers, with silly names (like Fifi Forget-Me-Not), and the episodes are about 4-5 minutes long. Perfect!
