Getting the Condo Ready to Rent

Wow, there are a lot of projects to get done when you're trying to rent out a place you'd lived in for four years- w/three little kids!  We knew that we wanted to get the place painted, and the carpets professionally cleaned, but there were also a few other projects- ie, fix the living room fan that has never worked!

We called my brother, Anthony, to fix it- he's an electrician, and managed to figure out the problem- the fan was wired to be run w/a remote, but we'd never had a remote, which meant that it would have never worked.  So, after a bit of rewiring, he got it running!

While Anthony was working on the fan, Ezra and I were upstairs working on some other things- the kids closet door (it had just come off the track), more grout, and then...taking apart the kids bunk bed.  Ugh, this tile project took forever!

Turns out that Ikea bunk beds aren't made to come apart.  Ever.  Here's where the bed is now:

It had to be done- and, as sad as that was, that bed served the purpose for us in the house.  We needed a small (inexpensive) bunk bed set, and this was it.  Now, on to better things, I guess!

Anyway, we've had lots of interest in the condo- we listed it w/Philly Apartment Company a week after we moved (that's Ezra dropping off the keys w/the company on our way out of the city), and already three people have been in to look at it.

Hopefully it'll get settled soon, and we'll have good renters- I'm kinda nervous about being a "landlord"! ;)
