Robins

Bc our front door sticks a bit, we don't really use it- we usually just come in the side door, rather than deal w/the struggle of trying to close/lock the front door properly.  (Another project...)

I'm guessing that since we don't really use that end of the porch, that it seemed like the perfect place for a Mother Robin to build a nest.  In July.  (Aren't birds usually busy at nests/babies in Spring?)

And just today, we saw what we've all been waiting for since we started watching her work- we saw three baby birds!

I tried to get all three in the picture, but whenever I snapped a shot, one of them ducked!  Oh well...imagine that you see three birds! :)

Also, I don't know a thing about nest-building, but it seems...super-small.  The mother looks completely squished when she's in there, w/her tail sticking straight up against the porch!  I have a bad feeling that we'll be finding baby birds on the porch floor in no time, due to lack of nest-space...
